OUR PURPOSE

The purpose of The BLACKBRIAR Group’s deployment was straightforward and humanitarian; our business model is investigative intelligence and high-risk recovery operations.

“To generate actionable information that may contribute to determining the location of Nancy Guthrie and identifying the individual or individuals responsible for her disappearance, while encouraging members of the community who possess potentially critical information to come forward.”

Our hope is to reach individuals who may not have previously shared what they know, including the English/Spanish/Native American communities, who may not have recognized the significance of something they witnessed, or who may have been unwilling or hesitant to come forward.

Every conversation matters. Every person reached matters. Every credible tip has the potential to make a meaningful difference.

Information that may appear insignificant when viewed independently can become important when evaluated alongside other evidence, witness accounts, timelines, surveillance information, digital evidence, and investigative intelligence.

The BLACKBRIAR Group remains committed to working collaboratively with law enforcement throughout this humanitarian effort and to conducting its activities in support of law enforcement’s continuing investigative objectives.

ONE TIP CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING

While on deployment, The BLACKBRIAR Team received an anonymous telephone call from a Hispanic female in Texas. The FBI Field Office in Tucson was notified and the tip received a priority evaluation.

ALL IT TAKES IS ONE TIP. THE RIGHT TIP.

Someone knows something. Someone saw something. Someone knows who is involved. Someone has the ability to end this and bring Ms. Nancy home to her family.

RECOGNITION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT

The BLACKBRIAR Group extends its sincere appreciation to President Donald J. Trump, FBI Director Kash Patel, Jon Edwards — FBI Tucson, Pima County Sheriff Department / FBI Joint Task Force. The BLACKBRIAR Group also recognizes the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Quantico, along with the men and women of the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, law-enforcement authorities, and private-sector professionals who have worked—and continue to work—tirelessly in the effort to determine what happened to Mrs. Guthrie, identify those responsible, and bring Mrs. Guthrie home.

We recognize the extraordinary commitment required of investigators, analysts, forensic personnel, search professionals, support personnel, and others whose work often continues outside public view. Their service, professionalism, and continued dedication to Nancy Guthrie and her family deserve recognition and respect.

A SELF-FUNDED HUMANITARIAN COMMITMENT

This initiative was undertaken as a humanitarian commitment.

The BLACKBRIAR Group formally offered to provide private-sector investigative intelligence and high-risk recovery operations to the Guthrie family and their legal counsel while working collaboratively with law-enforcement authorities during one of the most difficult experiences any family can endure—the unexplained disappearance of their mother.

Our purpose was straightforward: to bring experienced investigative, intelligence, behavioral, search-and-recovery, and operational professionals together in support of the continuing effort to find Nancy and help provide her family with answers.

Throughout this effort, we have remained mindful of something that can easily become lost amid timelines, evidence, investigative reports, media coverage, and case numbers:

Nancy Guthrie is a mother. She is a loved one. She is a human being—not another case.

Behind every missing-person investigation is a family waiting for the telephone to ring, hoping for an answer, and living with an uncertainty few people can fully understand.

That human reality is at the heart of BLACKBRIAR's mission.

Every missing person matters. Every family deserves answers. And every effort must ultimately remain focused on bringing the missing home.

The BLACKBRIAR team members who deployed to Tucson self-funded the initiative. Deployment-related expenses—including airfare, accommodations, vehicle rentals, meals, transportation, and other mission-related expenses—were borne privately by those participating in the effort.

The men and women who traveled to Tucson did so because they believed their years of professional experience in major crimes, resources, professional networks, community outreach, and willingness to serve could contribute to the continuing effort to find Nancy Guthrie.

There was one overriding objective:

HELP FIND NANCY GUTHRIE AND BRING HER HOME TO HER FAMILY.

The BLACKBRIAR Group remains committed to responsible humanitarian service, cooperation with law enforcement, respect for the integrity of the official investigation, and the pursuit of credible information that may help provide the answers Nancy Guthrie’s family deserves.
